JAWS 14 on the Zone with IE?

Is anyone having issues on the Zone using JAWS 14 with Internet Explorer? Often, I'll have to hit insert z twice to turn virtual cursor off and back on again when I load a new page or refresh a page. Many times, JAWS reports no headings or form fields are visible, even if I know both are present on the page (after receiving a quicknote or in fact on almost any page within the Zone). Am I alone? Thanks!

I've also found that, when replying to board posts, or playing anagrams, I have to turn the virtual cursor back on. I don't know of a fix for this, but I at least wanted you to know someone else is experiencing the same thing.

Interesting. How is yours set? Mine is set to automaticly turn on, and depending on the version of IE we are talking about might make a differents? I'm using 10.

You know, because Jaws 14 is built for Windows 8 mainly, I always suggest a person that is running Windows 7 keep Jaws 13 until they are happy with 14.
It doesn’t take up much space, and you can always run 13 when you like on websites like the Zone, if you are having issues with 14, or until it gets settled.
When you’ve got to different platforms to deal with your program is going to be buggy I’d think.
This is happening to many companies.
I can’t use my Logitech webcam because of this, but on Windows 7 it works perfectly.
Because I’m running Windows 8, I run and must run Jaws 14 completely, but if I ran Windows 7 I’d have them both.

I dont have problems on the zone, however the QN console has always been somewhat problematic.
Useing IE8, Windows XP and Jaws 14 here. Make sure you have the latest build of 14, that might fix your issues too.

Thanks for all of this. I may go back to JAWS 13. Personally, I am still using JAWS 12 at work and still find that it is the best and most stable version of JAWS, but that may in part be a function of the various systems I have used.

I quite like JAWS 14. other than this issue, I feel it's much more stable than previous versions. it reads some things more fluidly, which is a big plus, in my book. the cursor issue is a minor one.

I'd agree. I also think 14 is vary stable.
I have not problems with it at all, as to its function. Some probrams do not work exactly, but that is not Jaws.
If you have Windows 7 maybe update your IE to version 10 and see if the Zone issue is solved?
It might be the program, and not Jaws at all. Or settings.

One thing that can affect the V currsor accurately coming on/off are tool bars. In your IE, check under view and then tool bars to see which ones are checked. Not a big fan of running third party TB's such as google bing ETC. Most folks say I have nothing like this installed, and then upon checking they do! Typically this type stuff gets installed when installing other software without our knowledge.
Also, make sure no add/ons are causing you grief. From all programs go to accessories, and system tools. From there go to internet explorer no add ons. Then go to the zone and do your normal work flow. If everything works as expected, then perhaps you have an add on causing the problem.

Beautiful suggestions. I know about this, but assume people watch what comes in.
Great!

I agree that jaws14 is very stable.
sometimes it doesn't load after unloading it and i have to reboot to get it to load again, but other than that it seems to work well, with the exception of AIM.
